I've always wondered what the disciples were doing the day after Jesus were killed. I suppose they were hiding out and grieving. They probably had restless nights, little sleep, and total disillusionment. They had been told several times, by Jesus himself, exactly what would happen and yet...they still didn't see it coming.
This day in the Holy Week is a big question mark. We know that Jesus was with the Father because of what he said to the thief on the cross. The Jewish leaders were smug because they quelled another religious upstart who dared to oppose them. The Romans were back to business as usual. But Jesus wasn't finished. On Sunday Jesus will become the only man to ever raise himself back to life which means he was no mere man! He was God in the flesh. He was the one who had power over death and the grave. He was the one who made the way for our resurrection. Stay tuned...tomorrow it begins!
