Silent Wednesday. It sounds mysterious or maybe even foreboding. But there is simply nothing recorded about Jesus' final Wednesday before the crucifixion. That's not to say that nothing was going on! Jesus had endured the pressing masses on Sunday. He'd had a fierce confrontation when he cleared the temple on Monday. Tuesday the religious leaders harassed him and then he taught all day. Wednesday Jesus probably rested in Bethany with his friends (Lazarus, Mary, and Martha) and the disciples. But, whatever the record might not say, I assure you his enemies weren't resting.
On Sunday they cried, “There’s nothing we can do. Look, everyone has gone after him!” (Jn 12:19)
On Monday "the leading priests, the teachers of religious law, and the other leaders of the people began planning how to kill him." (Lk 19:47)
On Tuesday "They demanded, “By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?” (Matt 21:23)
On Thursday they arrested him in the prayer garden.
So what was going on Wednesday in the enemy's camp? It wasn't silence. It was plotting, scheming, bribing, conniving, , and forming a plot to kill God's only Son.
Silent Wednesday? Assassination Wednesday! Deception Wednesday! War room Wednesday! Tomorrow the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
